Traffic Calming at Northdale Public School

I am a mother of two small children and I live just one block away from Northdale Public School and witness multiple vehicles speeding past our school and home on Brant Street daily. I have witnessed students exiting school property and walking onto sidewalks on Brant Street, during school hours, as there is no fence around this school. There are no posted speed limits, specifically no 40km/h zones around the entire school. No speed bumps and no stop signs on Brant Street from Huron Street to Wellington Street. I think it is very important for all Northdale Public School students and the community, that traffic calming initiatives such as radar speed signs or speed bumps or speed limits be integrated into this school zone to slow or reduce traffic in order to enhance safety for pedestrians and motorists. As a mother, I fear for the safety of my children when they are old enough to go to school and that’s why I have started this petition.
