The localism policy is terms domestic abuse refuge centres have to comply with in order to access funding from local authorities. However, this ignores the fact that women and children are forced to leave their local area in order to be safe and escape from the perpetrator. This prevents women and children from being accepted at these centres hindering them from security and an ability to rebuild their lives. Removing the localism policy allows women from all areas of the country to access refuge centres.
