Women (& Men) across the Country called to support Ambassador Susan Rice
Once again we find ourselves in the position to stand boldly against the forces in our government that would challenge the impeccable credentials of one of the most outstanding, qualified leaders in foreign policy in our land.
Ambassador Rice who has demonstrated throughout her career, in both the public and private sector, her commitment to international peace and the equality of all people should be honored for her dedication and service and not summarily dismissed by those that seek political gain. We, therefore, urge all U.S. Senators to give Ambassador Rice the proper respect appropriate for any Cabinet-level member of a sitting Administration.
While some members of the U.S. Senate have realized the importance to back away from the “rush to judgment” comments made to the press regarding Ambassador Rice’s prepared remarks on the attack in Benghazi, BWOPA strongly believes that the integrity and reputation of this brilliant woman, who is serving our country with great dignity, has been unfairly and unnecessarily attacked.
The fact that United States Senators, such as Senators McCane and Graham, can attack one of the most highly respected women in our Nation, who serves as a role model to all women and especially women of color, is disrespectful to her, and an affront to all women. We therefore request that you join us, the Black Women’s Roundtable as well as women across this nation in support for Ambassador Rice in her current role or any other public service role she may be afforded in the future.
Please sign the petition in support of Ambassador Rice and circulate it to others – the time for action is NOW!!!
Honorable Dezie Woods Jones, State President BWOPA California
