Preservation of Gleniffer Brae & the integrity of Music & Arts within the Illawarra
In a world that's furiously upgrading, throwing away and destroying anything old or anything deemed useless it is my/our duty to do something about it. To maintain the integrity of our hometown and the memory of all those who have studied with the Conservatorium of Music over the decades; preservation of the Gleniffer Brae Manor should be endorsed.
My opinion is that we as a community would benefit from an Amphitheatre in the land unoccupied alongside the current buildings, and that any buildings currently in question should be assessed and if need be provided with design framework/reinforced support to maintain its current structure and form.
My idea involves providing a space for local Photographers to showcase their works, Music study to continue flourishing onsite and for Dance and Drama to also be integrated via performance opportunities within the space of Gleniffer Brae. Amplifying the Arts buzz for the Wollongong community is essential, achievable, and long overdue.
Yours truly, D Minor
