We are advocating to make Wollongong Town Hall a Skateboard-Friendly Zone.

Wollongong street skateboarding is fundamental to the local youth culture and has been vital to its growth over the last 40 years.

Wollongong Town Hall specifically has played a monumental part, gaining fame as one of Wollongong City’s well known and iconic Street Skateboarding Plaza’s.

It is time for the city to understand and recognise its part in the local patrimony.

Wollongong Town Hall has been a turning point for city Street Skateboarding and the local culture it influences. The future of Town Hall within the local skateboarding community is extremely important and together must be protected for its growth and development.

We hope this list of signatures with the support of local businesses surrounding Wollongong Town Hall and our local community will show the city how important this is to our culture and how critical it is to preserve one of the last icons of Wollongong Street Skateboarding.
