Chris Bingham started this petition to Wokingham Borough Council

Wokingham Borough Council's two electricity tarrifs only have a 25% 'green' component. 'Green' can be pitched to include Nuclear by some companies, so the renewable component could be significantly smaller than 25%.

The gas is not biogas, or carbon offset either.

Wokingham is a council proud to have decared a climate emergency, so I am horrified with the negligence of the Borough on such a matter.

It also makes the Borough look bad against the neighboring councils.

Reading has been 100% renewable for electricity since July 2019.

RBWM is 100% renewable electricity.

For something so easy to switch there really is no excuse for the council to continue to avoid 100% green tarrifs and carbon offset of gas usage. If other local councils can, then why can't Wokingham?

The time to act is now. Wokingham Council needs to switch tarrifs immediately.
