Petition update

Wokingham Borough to debate petition in January

Wokingham, United Kingdom

Dec 12, 2017 — Great news! Wokingham Borough Council will give this petition a full debate in a meeting of the entire council on January 19th, 2018. Initially, this had been rejected because there were insufficient signatures from within the Borough; however, when it was pointed out that signatories might work within the Borough (and thereby meet the Borough's qualifications for being counted), the almost 2000 signatures were admitted, and the Mayor agreed to have it debated. This was a great improvement on the treatment I received at the Council meeting in November, when I was not given the same time allowance as Council members and was disallowed from giving my full presentation of the petition. I am delighted that the Mayor has since seen fit to put time aside for this important debate, so please come along and lend your support on January 19th at 7:30pm at the Shute End council offices. Thank you all for your continuing support.
