Rylan Lubeck desires to be a volunteer coach for the Wisconsin Rapids wrestling team.  However, the superintendent is unwilling to hire him due to "broader implications" even though the coaching staff supported Rylan.

Rylan is more than qualified to volunteer his time to help this team.  He wrestled for UW-Madison.  During his tenure as a Badger, Rylan was a four-year starter and an NCAA qualifier.  Furthermore, he coached the Middleton High School wrestling team for two years and was at the Middleton middle school for a year.  He has been a camp clinician at several locations including Wisconsin Rapids, Menomonie, and Sauk Prairie.  Rylan has already made appearances at practices in the past and his presence is always appreciated by the wrestlers and parents.  His interactions with the wrestlers are always positive and beneficial.

Besides his wrestling knowledge, experience, and abilities, Rylan is a positive role model and leader.  He has volunteered extensively at elementary schools and Children's Hospital.  Rylan was a recipient of the UW Athletic Department's Impact Award in both 2016 and 2017 for having the most impact on the community through volunteering on the wrestling team.  Additionally, he has been a leadership team member with Athletes in Action and was on the UW-Madison Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The student-athletes and their parents directly affected by the superintendent's decision are disappointed by the ruling.  The team wants Rylan because of his positive impact on everyone through his knowledge and character.  In consideration of "broader implications," the superintendent has chosen not to do what is in the best interest of the student-athletes directly impacted by his decision.  A coaching position's main impact is on a team and therefore the effect on and the desires of the team should be the utmost priority when making a coaching decision.  As a team, we strive to give our best effort and yearn to succeed.  Rylan wishes to help this team achieve its goals and be a positive influence as he's proven countless times.

Help the team convince the superintendent to reevaluate and change his decision by signing this petition in support of having Rylan Lubeck be a volunteer coach for the Wisconsin Rapids high school wrestling team.
