1. Basic Computer Skills: The very first week of Virtual Learning should have included basic computer skill classes for children and adults to navigate. The children are required to know how to open google files, add text, capitalize letters, add punctuation, and share files to turn them in. I do not know how a child would know how to open a toolbar in order to find the share button and then click on the correct email to send in their assignment. Most adults would struggle with doing this. It is very concerning!

2. Lunch Times: It is very difficult to schedule lunch and recess for 36+ children with all different lunchtimes that vary let alone that change daily. We are requesting a district-wide lunch time with district-wide break times.

3. Communication: Childcare Centers are not able to communicate with the child's teacher. The children are wearing headphones or earbuds, and we are not able to hear anything the teachers are saying to the children. Without these headphones, we would have 36+ different computers going at the same time. We understand that most of the schools use DOJO to communicate changes, etc. We do not have that information. How can we come up with a way for teachers to communicate changes that happen throughout the day? A message is being sent through DOJO to the parents who are working. Parents have asked us how they know if their child has turned in their work. That is a great question because we are still trying to figure that out as well.

4. Schedules: Children are being provided with schedules that the teachers do not follow. We have students saying that they do not need to be online until 12:50, but then we find out they were due back on at 12:00. We have way too many different schedules to accommodate, and the lack of information makes it nearly impossible for us to oversee and hold children accountable for being online during their scheduled time. Some children are in class, some children are doing independent work (but have nothing to work on), some children are doing gym or music while others need quiet time, and several children are on IEPs and need assistance. However, we do not know what assistance is needed. Does the school have the ability to support the children who need additional assistance with an aide once or twice a week?

5. Accountability: We have seen parents who are partially dressed while on live calls. Yesterday, a child took off her headphones and said a parent was on the phone cursing in the background. Are the teachers able to mute these parents? Is anything being communicated to the parents of the children in the classroom who has seen/heard these inappropriate things by the school?

6. Filters: The children are able to log in to YouTube and watch inappropriate things. How do we restrict access to these sites?

7. Passwords/Links: The parents are not informed about all of the different passwords, links, and schedules. Some links are in parent emails, children's emails, or on DOJO. Also, some children log on to Google Classroom and it shows their schedule for the school year 19/20 instead of 20/21.

8. Do the teachers know which children are in childcare and which ones are at home? This is something they need to know.

We understand that this is the first two weeks of school and that there are things still being figured out but our main concern is that Virtual Learning needs to work for every child and every situation. We want to ensure that NO CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND!
