More on this petition:
We are writing this petition on behalf of the 30,000 or more Malayali population in New Zealand to help contribute to their related families and friends within the 35 million people suffering from the massive flood and disastrous landslides. The southern state of India, known for its sights and scenery, and its millions of civilians are being tormented by the catastrophic floods; continuing to be without adequate rescue operations, equipment, and personnel. Many of us have still not been able to contact family members and friends ever since the national disaster started on the 15th of August and has still not ended. The death toll is the most heartbreaking as it rises every hour, with 324 lives already lost. The elderly, young, sick, and pregnant are left stranded without food water or medicine, estimating to be more than 200,000 as the water rises, drowning the towns and its people. Nothing as massively destructive has happened since 1924 which has not left more and more civilians in 1,500 relief camps. There is also the additional burden of damage to crops and properties which the state estimates to be over INR 8,000 crore (1,727,840,000.00 New Zealand Dollars). Even with some rescue operations in place, we are in continuous need of supplies, food, support, love and prayers. With the deadly monsoon continuing to destroy houses forcing hundreds of families to evacuate; killing handfuls of people, your help is vital and needed more than ever. We kindly request New Zealand to give this support and collaborate with the Kerala State Government and the Indian Government for this relief mission. Contributions from the air force, navy, advanced technical aid, financial aid, and medical aid as well as many food supplies or anything at all to save the population of Kerala. The people of Kerala are on an SOS alert and they are pleading for help and relief. It’s our choice to respond or not. We highly encourage anyone to support generously by giving the smallest dollar as a donation which will be proceeded to the Kerala Flood Relief Fund. We also ask again, during this hour of distress, to join hands to pray for the people of Kerala. Please contact any organisations or officials who can potentially help this mission. Please spread the word by sharing on any social media platforms even if you are not from New Zealand since each signature is significant in saving millions. Thank you.
