Let Lara Coffee Co open in Colo Vale (near Hume motorway)

We, Lalin and Rachel, opened our small coffee trailer business named Lara Coffee Co shortly after moving to Hill Top in the Southern Highlands of NSW. After living here for a few weeks, we noticed the large number of cars that would stop or park in the car park on Church ave, near Hume motorway in Colo Vale. There are no other cafes nearby, so it seemed like the best place to open our coffee trailer business in our local area.

After being open for just less than 2 weeks, we've come to know many of our neighbours and have served them a coffee on their way to work, university or to their kids sporting events. We pride ourselves on having affordable and delicious coffee, sourced locally (Rush Roasting) and always delivering with a smile.

Today the Wingecarribee council informed us that we could no longer serve coffee in that location. Unfortunately there are very few places that are convenient to stop, before entering onto the motorway and it has meant we're not able to serve our neighbours.

We don't believe our business has had a negative impact on other local business, the environment or the community. The feedback we've had is that "it's saved me spending an hour in the car without a good coffee" and "I'm so glad you're here". The feedback has been glowing. We also ensure we pick up any rubbish that was dumped by others throughout the night or the previous day.

We're asking for your support, to petition to have this decision reversed by the council and for them to grant us a permit to operate daily in the car park, between 4:30 to 9:00am.
