The following is a petition for Windmere Real Estate of Lane County. We are respectfully asking that you please withdraw the listing under Lori Mallory, or any other prospective agents, of 33635 Gloria Anne Lane, Cottage Grove OR, 97424 for reasons of moral conscience and potential publicity issues for your real estate firm.

This home/listing was modified by the former, deceased residents for their disabled son, Jon Hetherington. His mother and father both sadly passed away within a short period of time of each other, and now, wheelchair-bound Jon will be homeless if the property is allowed to be sold, as he has no form of income and is unable to work. In terms of marketing and public relations, this spells a PR nightmare and is not conducive to selling a property.

Social media is a powerful tool and when people understand the gravity of the situation, it would not be very positive for Windmere Real Estate of Lane County. Especially when the home is worth less than $500k and you would need to be able to talk the buyers into taking on the cost of undoing all the specifications that the previous owners made for their handicapped family member. As well as, let's be honest, some of the outdated fixtures that would also need to be updated. Hard sell, no?

Plus, you are not permitted to do a staging of the house right now with the current residents due to COVID restrictions. How likely will you be able to sell this house sight unseen, especially when you only have limited photos showing the actual property? The town is also a good distance away from any larger cities, so the rural/isolated aspects causes a dent in the home's curb appeal, too.

Bottom line - is it worth the trouble, ethically and financially? Or would you rather work with willing clients and a property that does not have so many strings attached?
