Consider inappropriate industrial development and drainage impact at Wellington Park
We request Winchester City Council consider the regular flooding of mixed surface and sewage water from the drain network and the issues residents are already facing due to a lack of capacity in the drain's ability to handle this, and in relation to the impact of this proposed industrial site development at Wellington Park. Please consider the methods of drainage proposed and the impact of displacing further surface water as a result of this development. In places the water and sewage pollution has covered the childrens park and polluted land and water course, contaminating further downstream. The sewage mix was 0.5 metres from entering residents homes and in one home pressure on this line meant sewage did enter their home via the bath. Please ensure this development is stopped on the grounds that the surrounding residential area and its drains can not take further impact from this industrisation of adjoining open space and is inappropriate to the existing area, its residential use, road according to requirements of design criteria for industrial access and its available drainage infrastructure. There may be benefits to such development but this location is totally inappropriate and will cause unacceptable further detrimental consequences of which residents have reported prior to this planning decision.
