I would like to first  express my gratefulness, to Almighty God. My name is Willie Morris Clay II; I'm an Oakland California Native, 56 years of age. Who have been incarcerated since April 27th 2009. While growing up in Oakland, I made a lot of bad choices, to which I'm not proud of, and said choices are the direct contribution to my current situation. Be that I fell short of my responsibilities as a human being,, son, brother, spouse, father and citizen- in my social responsibilities; and due to that fact, I placed myself in a position where my life was threatened and unequivocally in danger. I felt extremely over burden and that my only recourse of action was to take that individuals life, in a panic. Which was the worst mistake I've ever made in my life. I truly regret deeply for taking the life of another human being, the pain and anguish I caused the victim's family, my family and society as a whole.

I am a proud father of 12 children, three of whom are deceased, 14 grandchildren and a husband to my to wife Tonya D French - Clay. For whom I strive to be a positive role model. By showing myself approve, I’ve comprised this petition in hopes that my peers would take into consideration the unique circumstances surrounding my case , my Collective efforts and participation in Rehabilitation. For which has been an ongoing process for the past 20 years; but for a lapse of judgment, that has contributed to my current situation. Which have accumulated into a conscious development, yielding several chronos, certificates and essays through courses such as Restorative Justice, Path to Peace, AA, NA, Anger Management, Denial Management, Relapse Prevention, Conflict Recognition and Resolution, and Victims Awareness. In addition, I have facilitated several of those groups, and currently I’m a tutor in Governor Gavin Newsom’s (PLMP) Peer Literacy Mentorship Program in CSP-Solano. I'm a coordinator for Lifeline For Youthful Offenders Mentor and Mentee Program and currently seeking enrolled in Lassen Community College, to pursuing a major in Business Administration, and a minor in sociology.

I humbly declare, the man I am today is far from that which would be considered a morally defined individual. Nevertheless, on a daily basis, I'm consciously working to operate around historical principles of morals; In terms of, spiritual and law. Although I have stumbled in this regard, I truly understand my relapses and the errors of my ways. I'm a Man Of Consciousness, in reference to boundaries, and my personal responsibility to those limitations. I understand my duties, when it comes to the conduct of a Man, his role within the family structure and the community-at-large: thus, one's civil obligations. I'm a Man today, that is profoundly aware- "that the individuals I choose to socialize with, and the places I choose to socialize at, will ultimately be the determining factors  of my success or failures- so I shall choose them wisely."
