Problem
Mega-lunch is simply a horrendous idea overall. It does not fix nor contribute anything the two-lunch system has to offer to the student body. There are too many people and not enough space, as students are constantly spilling over lunch tables and being forced to eat on the floor. After the chaos settles, trash is everywhere except the trashcans because those were filled ten minutes into lunch, making our janitors work even harder to clean up after us. The lines for everything are too long, and it takes half of the lunch period to get food. While the administrators argue Mega-lunch opens opportunity to engage in extracurricular activities during lunch, many activities, such as tennis and band are in fact, inhibited because of the sheer amount of people that go to practice. It is unfair that students don't get a say in our lunches getting changed.

Solution
This entire problem could be avoided if we maintain the current two-lunch system. This system contains very few flaws and offers a wholesome lunch experience. There is no need to change it, especially if it is going to be replaced with a system that offers nothing to the student body.

Personal story
As a band student myself, I witnessed firsthand how chaotic the one lunch policy is to not only the commons, but also the practice areas located in the fine arts hallway. Usually, there are around 15-20 band kids in the practice areas when I go to practice. When I went to the practice areas during Mega-lunch, there were as many as 60 people shoved into a grand total of six practice rooms and one band hall. This prohibited any productive rehearsing, making my efforts to improve useless.
