DEMAND PRESERVATION OF THE BULLDOG:

At 2,500 signatures, this petition is more likely to get picked up by local news!

On Monday May 18th, The Dutch Kennel Club placed drastic restrictions on the future breeding of brachycephalic (broad-headed) breeds.

The Dutch Kennel Club is even threatening fines for breeders that still choose to adhere to the KC or FCI Official Breed Standards, and to withhold pedigrees.

Historic and unique breeds are being targeted.

Mongrelizing under the new Dutch rules will be promoted.

The potential repercussions for all other jurisdictions are great, as Animal Rights Activists continue their war against the ownership of companion animals.

It is a slippery slope for all!

The UK, Canada, and The United States already have comprehensive Health Schemes in place for the betterment of breeding programs and genetic testing is employed by responsible breeders.

Please stand for responsible breeding.

Please stand for the preservation of these historic and unique breeds.

Please resist those that choose to alter and pervert what they do not understand.

Responsible breeders are NOT the problem; Governments should be directing their energies and resources at shutting down puppy mills and unethical breeders who breed their dogs at young ages and multiple times, and breed with NO regard for health, temperament, longevity, or soundness.

In addition to the Bulldog, other breeds currently targeted include: the Affenpinscher, Boston terrier, Griffon Belge, Griffon Bruxellois, Pug, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, French bulldog, Japanese Chin, Pekingese, Petit Brabancon, Shih Tzu.
