Local residents living on and around Poolstock Lane , Wigan . Have been lead to believe by Wigan Council that once the A49 bypass was built , improvements to Poolstock Lane would begin . It was said that traffic calming measures where to be introduced creating a 20mph residential road, reducing air pollution for those living within the spatial area , thus creating a much better living environment.

Wigan Council now need to deliver this for all residents living in the area, as we feel that we are being given lip service from them , we are experiencing no different living circumstances than prior to the bypass being built , indeed the bypass has now created a new issue for local residents that being the anti social behavior created most nights by speeding cars and motorbikes using the bypass as a speed track .

Many local residents are hesitant to use the bypass after a certain time of night due to this issue.

We are therefore asking Wigan Council to now deliver their mandate to make the Poolstock Lane area a residential safe zone.
