Statement:

We the undersigned petition Wigan council to finally pave The Strand, in Ashton in Makerfield. The road is currently filled with enormous potholes, has no pavement or drainage, and is incredibly muddy.

Justification:

Wigan Council has already established that they own half of The Strand (it is NOT unadopted), so there is no reason why residents who pay high band council tax should live with such poor road conditions - wrecking their cars and needing wellies to step out of their houses. As The Strand faces Jubilee Park, paving this road would benefit not just residents, but everyone who uses the park.

As residents, we have communicated our frustrations and issues to the council countless times, and we still see no effective improvement. We hope this petition will finally get this issue resolved.
