During the peak spread of COVID-19, grocery workers are at heightened risk for getting the virus. The CDC has recommended avoiding large crowds and social distancing practices for all Americans. Grocery stores are experiencing a huge influx of customer crowds thus putting grocery store workers and their families at a higher risk of infection. 

This petition is to advocate for temporary increased wages in the form of hazard pay to compensate them financially for putting themselves and their families at a higher risk of infection. Many other employers and schools have closed or switched to telecommuting which is not an option for these workers.
