Lets End Systemic Silence!

In this country we have a culture of Systemic Silence, especially in professional settings. This Systemic Silence marginalizes issues and cultivates a nationwide inability to handle differences of opinion and culture and perpetuates an attitude of indifference towards important issues like Black Lives Matter, Climate Change, and Animal Rights, among others. This MUST end if we are to progress as a civilized society. These young women are willing to risk their jobs for what they believe in. Will you sign this petition and show your support?

My name is David Snyder and I stand with these young women. I believe Whole Foods has the opportunity and the responsibility to assert itself as a leader in this. I believe that allowing people to represent issues with workplace appropriate attire will increase awareness and encourage cultural cohesiveness. I believe it’s entirely possible to avoid controversy by:

1) Allowing representation of issues, not specific political actions.

2) Offering a basic de-escalation course to participating employees.

3) Creating a pre-approval list of issues that can be worn.

4) Offering to review proposed issues by employees.
