I feel like underprivileged or low income people don’t get a fair shake when it comes to the law and the judicial system in lake county Indiana , my reasoning being for feeling this way everyone can’t afford to obtain legal representation or some high powered attorney so they have to settle for a public defender who they do appreciate the help from but it’s obvious he works for you the other team as well so he does the bare minimum  he is almost like a voice but his voice is barely being heard for the benefit of the defendant it’s not fair also I feel they need to allow some people to have access to advocates so they may have an objective voice to speak up on the behalf of  these kids or young adults it’s not fair how their being railroaded to just take whatever and deal with whatever punishment their handed down , those court officials don’t know these kids and young adults backgrounds or at home circumstances because no one is voicing these things for them ESPECIALLY if them or their families can afford outside legal representation I just think it is unfair and unjust and if people keep quiet and don’t start making a fuss they will keep getting away with railroading our kids period.I just firmly believe these kids and some young adults need an advocate or someone to speak up and make sure they are100% being treated justly and fairly in the eyes of the law I have seen first hand how they ARENT and these court officials are getting away with it because no one is speaking UP for our kids
