"Whole-House" Short-Term Rentals in Golden, Colorado were shut down by the new POOR (Primary Owner Occupancy Requirement) of Ordinance 2078. 

During the hearing, hosts such as local property managers, second-home owners and local investors were told "the market is good now so just sell them". 

Now that the prime selling season is about to begin, a rezoning effort is under way with a moratorium to stop all new building while we are being rezoned. No one in their right mind would want to buy with all this uncertainty.

Many local STR's have gone underground or shut down. We want to reopen our  short-term rentals legally while the community figures out the new zoning. At least we will be able to cover our expenses without locking in year long leases. Then we can regroup after we know our options. Nobody wants to sell at a big discount because of the uncertainty this year.
