This is something which is giving chain smokers like us a chance of quitting. With cigarrete intake reduced to none, I can breathe freely, and I feel great. Don't take this away from us. It's doing more good than harm.
#VapersBeHeard AND BE ALERT!
From the 1st to the 6th of October 2018, the future of vape products will be decided by 168 countries and their bureaucrats who will meet in Geneva for the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control 8th Conference of Parties (WHO FCTC COP 8).
You have not been invited to attend. But your voice must be heard loud and clear. Because these people are making decisions for you about your choices and your consumer rights.
The main topic in Geneva will be the future of how to regulate or even ban Electronic Nicotine Delivery System (ENDS) and other alternative products, as shown in their website: www.who.int/fctc/cop/sessions/cop8/FCTC_COP_8_1_Provisional_agenda-en.pdf
There will be no transparency in this meeting. As a group of very concerned vapers from Asia, some of whom observed COP7 from the outside in 2016, we know that unless we are heard loud and clear we may lose our right to choose a better life.
There are three main points that #VapersBeHeard hope to express to policy-makers:
It is the basic human right of vapers and smokers to receive accurate information as well as have access to better alternative products, rather than to continue smoking cigarettes.
Vapers are also people - mothers, fathers, sons, daughters - and we deserve a chance to lead a better life through these alternative products.
Asian vapers stand ready to be part of the process in regulating better alternative products
It is our time to be heard, so together let’s make sure #VapersBeHeard.
