Adolescent tobacco use is concerning because adolescence are still growing up and their brains are still developing, so teens may make more impulsive decisions (such as starting to smoke) compared to adults. In addition, a research shows that teens may be more vulnerable to nicotine addiction than adults. Tobacco use in teenagers and young adults can cause both immediate and long-term harm. Cigarette smoking during childhood and adolescence causes significant health problems among young people, including an increase in the number and severity of respiratory illnesses, decreased physical fitness and potential effects on lung growth and function. Publicly smoking not only endangers your health but also effects the people around you. Therefore underage smoking should be prohibited worldwide. Moreover signing this petition will spread awareness and prevent smoking in youngsters. The harmful effects of nicotine in teenagers and young adults make it important for us to put an end to teenage smoking.
