With an increase of the rates in the Whitsundays this year we can't help but ask: What are we paying for?

We live in a holiday destination but currently not getting the tourism we should due to the Covid situation.

If we want locals to support local businesses, why make them pay for parking or have them risk getting a fine for not paying? This isn't encouraging locals to go out on boat tours or to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, not forgetting those paying to park their vehicle while at work.

All Whitsunday residents should get a free pass to park in Council owned car parks. We pay enough rates to deserve this.
