Pensioners in Primrose and Northinch Court, Whiteinch need your help!

The Sheltered housing complex is part of Whiteinch and Scotstoun housing association's stock in the area. Following cuts from Glasgow city council who provided funding to staff the Common room and Laundry Room, Whiteinch and Scotstoun housing association announced that they are making a decision on the closure of these facilities by mid-august/ early September.

The facilities are a crucial focal point for the community that live in the sheltered housing, a whole range of events and activities are held within the common room every day, bringing a much cherished social life to many of the residents who may otherwise feel very isolated at such an age.

Tenants' from the wider housing association area are rallying round with the support of groups such as the WSHA Tenancy Advice Group (TAG). But they need the support and pressure of everyone in Glasgow and beyond.

We ask that Whiteinch and Scotsoun Housing Association (who made a profit of over £800,000 in 2015 and charge some of the highest social rents in scotland with some housing 22% higher than the scottish average[1]) step up, make the right decision and provide the support required to keep the facilities open.
