Proposed rezoning of Lot 1244 Fish Lake Road Area to Country Residential.
Eric Nyland ,Developer of Ravens Ridge,Whitehorse is wanting to build a house on the ridge west of McIntyre Creek.
With this, is the intention to bring a powerline from Ravens Ridge ACROSS MCIntyre Creek and up the slope the the ridge for his house !!Also a road 6-10 meters wide and almost 1km long ,would be needed to allow access for emergency vehicles and servicing of the residence. This would be behind the ridge ,part of McIntyre Creek PARK.This will be a significant intrusion on this prime wilderness area where bears traverse the corridor ,eagles nest,roost and swoop through the creek corridor .
There is diverse breeding birdlife both in the Creek and surrounding riparian zone all within MCIntyre Creek ,which according to the City sustainability program and the
OCP (Official Community Plan)is in planning to designate the area a PARK!!( ?funding?)
This rezoning is for ONE individual with repercussions for all Whitehorse citizens
We need to have a strong public turnout TUES 9th OCTOBER , 7.30 pm at the City Hall to show the Mayor and Council that this is NOT some thing they should allow and vote NO to the rezoning .
