IS YOUR CHILD ENOUGH? MINE IS!
As a country, we have made incredible progress in finding equality for the LGBTQ community in America.
After the Stonewall Riots in 1969, the first large success was when the American Psychological Association voted to remove homosexuality from the diagnostic manual of mental disorders. There have been successes, including the life’s work of Harvey Milk and the 2003 Supreme Court decision to strike down the Anti-sodomy precedent.
Recently, we have had two large successes: The Employment Protection Act in 2014 and the Marriage Equality act in 2015. Our government does not have the right to discriminate against American citizens based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
With the oncoming change in leadership and elected officials in our government, we need to protect and defend the progress that we have made. Signing this petition is in support of keeping legislation that has been passed to defend the rights of the LGBTQ community. Every signature counts!!!
