Floppy and his creator, Duane Ellett, have been a crucial part of family-friendly programming in Iowa from the late 1950s on through the late 1980s. Guest stars, such as Bill Cosby and Art Linkletter, only demonstrates how popular the show was around the state of Iowa.

Letter to
State Historical Building of Iowa
This petition is signed by many people who would like you to keep the Floppy Exhibit up. Duane Ellett has been a great inspiration to many of us when we were younger. Some of these people who have signed bring their kids to the State Historical Building of Iowa to show their kids what they watched when they were younger. Duane Ellett touched many lives in Iowa by making us feel good about ourselves. He visited many children in hospitals and made everyone smile with Floppy. "The Floppy Show" is a key part of Iowa Broadcasting History as it was produced in Des Moines and seen throughout much of the state. Keep the Floppy Exhibit where it is and not in storage. If you have plans to perform restorations to preserve Floppy, please give us a specific date as to when we can look forward to seeing our childhood favorite dog.
