Lunch break freedom for year 13 students!!
For our level 2 social studies personal involvement assessment, and hoping to make a change, we are three Whanganui High School students who believe that year 13 students should have the option to leave the school premises during lunch breaks. So, to essentially be given automatic 'lunch passes' along with their succession to year 13. As year 13s - being young adults - they are expected to act accordingly and be responsible yet they are not allowed the freedom to prove that they are. Instead, treated no different from the common junior student. They should be given the right to leave school during breaks not only because it would give them a chance to prove their maturity and responsibility but it also offers them insight into life outside of school and prepares them for 'the real world'
