Block S-Block (Raise your voice for Junior privileges during S-Block)

Attention all Juniors,
The Junior Class Officers understand your frustration with S-block and hope to provide a change.
Students are expected to participate in five academic blocks a day, each 60 minutes in length. They need a break. S-block was intended to do so. However, strict rules were put in place, mandating that Juniors stay in their anchor rooms or receive help from other teachers. Many Juniors have faced discipline from both administrators and their anchor teachers for simply taking a break from these harsh rules, and protesting what they believe to be wrong.
In contrast, Seniors are allowed to leave school during S-Block and are not assigned to any anchor room. Both Juniors and Seniors are upperclassmen at Westwood High School, but only one gets the privileges of it. This is not fair. The Junior Class should be able to leave school during S block, while also having the ability to see teachers or stay in their anchor rooms if desired.
S-block is brand new, and allows for a 40-minute period where students can see their teachers, do homework, and take some stress out of their day. Unfortunately this does not always happen. With some changes, S block has the potential to be helpful and encouraging.
Do you have complaints with S-Block? Do you want privileges during S-Block?
If so, the Junior Class Officers strongly urge you to raise your voice and sign this petition. Thank you.
