We do not support the construction of government apartment complex proposed for “Guillory Gardens”. We do not support the land being used for HUD or other government residential buildings.   We feel the land is not an appropriate location for persons who have mental, emotional, and/or psychological illnesses or impairment.  Westlake, LA cannot offer any supportive services for these individuals.  There is no hospital, counseling, or public transportation to assist the individuals described.  Sewage, traffic, and drainage are also other problems for the land and the city is not prepared to address these critical infrastructure problems.  Government residential buildings decrease personal property value for citizens and increase crime rates.  We do not support the construction of “Guillory Gardens”.
