Since the Westgate shopping centre opened in 2017, traffic in South Oxford has been reduced to a standstill every weekend in the months leading up to Christmas.  Attracted by cheap parking,  motorists queue up outside the centre,  out along the Abingdon Road to the edge of the city. When this happens,  residents who are unable to walk or cycle are unable to travel to other parts of the city. Buses are unable to run to time. Now bus companies have started to change routes to avoid South Oxford. We have lost our buses to North Oxford,  Wallingford and Reading. 

Enough is enough! It is not right we should lose out like this because of a shopping centre. Of course many people need to use cars to help with their personal mobility.  That is why we are asking for the Westgate Centre car park to remain open for disabled blue badge holders only.
