Izzy G started this petition to Mark McGowan (Premier of Western Australia) and

What this petition aims to do is to make sure that the right towers are built at Elizabeth Quay!

To Get Mark McGowan our Premier, to respect the wishes of the people of Western Australia and to have the Perth + built. This decision to give approval to the new towers was rushed and didn't take into consideration the will of the People of WA.

Brookfield Property Partners bought lots 5 and 6 at Elizabeth Quay and held an international competition for the site, many designs were submitted but in the end the towers designed by Rex Architecture won.

In Nov 2017 the Design for the Elizabeth Quay twin towers was revealed to the People of Perth, it was on every news channel and in every paper in the city and had given a sense of excitement to the people of Perth who were thrilled with the design.

This is the Perth+ (the original design)

"[The towers] are memorable pieces of architecture that will put the city further onto the world stage," said Brookfield's Carl Schibrowski.

Then in Feb 2020 it was revealed that the design had changed. No explanation was given as to why the design changed and didn't include the project's signature feature a cantilevered section in the middle of the tallest tower, in the shape of a + sign, hence the nickname "plus".

The new Recently Approved Towers Design

We Elect politicians to serve the people, we the people expect them to follow our direction and bring to fruition what the majority wants. Is this the case here concerning the Perth+? What are we missing, or do but a few make the decision behind closed doors. I call upon the people of Perth to let their voices be heard regarding the Perth+ Towers. What do you want, and why aren't we getting it. What happened to the approved original plans. Why Can't we have the +.
