Westchester County is known for, among other things, its grand, multi-million dollar mansions and historic homes found in its posh communities such as Scarsdale, Bronxville and Brewster. However, not all of us are in a position to afford these grand homes and often choose a co-operative and/or a condo as a way to afford living and owning in this county. 

During the 70's and 80's many buildings were transformed into cooperatives BUT New York State neglected to develop a comprehensive set of laws to regulate this type of ownership. In the new era of suburbanization, residents who decide to purchase a co-op or condo are left with no one to turn to when the buildings are not being managed properly.  We want to change this issue!! 

Please sign this petition to support the request to create an Office of Cooperative and Condominium Accountability. This office would be staffed by a state employee and serve to support owners/renters when they have an issue with their board and/or management company.
