This petition was made due to the lack of support I received from Westbury Highschool when I reported my rape. They only suspended the person for 3 days and didn't feel the need to file a police report due to the fact I was intoxicated. They tried to get us to be friends due to there being more "good than bad" in our friendship. If they treated my situation like this, then I wonder how many other students have been ignored or didn't speak up due to the lack of support from the school. Schools are mandatory reporters and they didn't do their job. I reported my incident to the police and they're going to look into the District but I feel like that won't be enough. If you sign this petition, we'll be one step closer to changing the entire district. You don't have to be a victim, but overall Westbury needs a change.
