Reverse the Removal of a Student from WVWC

Reverse the Removal of a Student from WVWC
West Virginia Wesleyan College discriminated against a student with a medical disorder. The school deemed the student unfit to attend the college after being here for two months. Prior to the start of the semester the student turned in a medical waiver signed by three doctors stating that the student is exempt from wearing a mask, and the student was approved to attend. Upon arrival the student began to have issues, but the professors were willing to accommodate the student so that the student could continue to get a quality education. Unfortunately those in higher power positions were not willing to accommodate this student and their medical disorder needs.
The student received a student conduct meeting email stating that they had violated numerous campus policies and was threatened with removal from campus. The student was never able to attend one of the student conduct meetings, as they were held indoors and refused to allow her in without a mask, a mask the student could not wear for medical reasons. The student attempted to compromise with them and asked to be on Zoom for the meetings, but the request was denied on the terms that Zoom is not confidential. The student did not understand this reasoning as doctors and lawyers held appointments on Zoom frequently. Then the night that the first quarter of classes ended the student was notified that they were unable to remain a student at Wesleyan and had till Sunday at 4pm to be gone, this gave the student less than 48 hours to pack as they were notified around 11pm that Friday.
This student made accommodations on her own, was tested twice a week due to being on the soccer team, and was willing to discuss and compromise so that she could remain in school, and was still removed from the school. Our hope is that with the support of the students, the parents, the community, and anyone else we can help reverse the poor decision West Virginia Wesleyan College has made.
