A pet is a loving and caring family member. Currently there is no law in WV to protect pets if a veterinarian misdiagnoses or fails to give medical attention that is needed or required. The WV law states that pets are personal property. No lawyer will help you file a wrongful death lawsuit or attempt to have the veterinarian's license revoked or suspended. At this time all that can be done is file a complaint and watch the veternarian continue to do it to another person's pet. Together we can change the law so our pets will not die in vain due to a misdiagnosis or not completing a through checkup. This is asking our state representatives to do the humane thing and pass Chyna's Law, which will hold veternarians responsible and accountable for wrongful deaths and injuries. This will make a pet worth more than just personal property and what you pay for them. Chyna was a rescue and free, but was priceless and irreplaceable.
