Devan Drvar started this petition to West Virginia Department of Education and

Youth sports and schools, in Monongalia County, WV, are being unfairly punished due to the ridiculous idea that we cannot count the WVU student population as residents.  We are counting their tests, and more importantly, their positive cases; but are told we cannot count them as residents because they are not tax paying residents. This decision is absolutely absurd and clearly defies basic logic. Adding the student population is necessary to create a fair and accurate playing field for Monongalia County students and athletes. If we are going to be forced to adhere to these metrics, we should at least be given the same right as other counties by counting the actual population and not excluding nearly 30,000 people. Please help Monongalia County students and athletes by signing this petition and demanding that the state take the WVU population into account when computing the positive cases per 100,000 people. Thank you for caring!
