Lesley Byatt started this petition to West Midlands Ambulance Service

The Cheadle First response paramedic vehicle is to be Axed and the Ambulance standby post is to be closed.

The government require that all category 1 jobs have to be attended within 8 minutes, these are life threatening instances such as road traffic accidents and heart attacks, how can this target be met if ambulances are based in Stoke 13 miles from the centre of Cheadle.

The first response vehicle has been first on the scene at many major instances in Cheadle and the surrounding areas, emergencies at big employers like JCB and Alton towers , the first responder from the area was the first on the scene at the horrific Smiler accident, Alton towers has 10,000 visitors a day and is a long way from the stoke Ambulance station.

Cheadle hospital has already been closed for the residents and elderly people of Cheadle and the surrounding areas, the current first responder service are able to treat the elderly at home stopping them from spending long waiting times on trollies in corridors.

please sign to help to stop this vital service being taken away.
