On Tuesday 13th March at 10 am, West Lothian Council are planning to go ahead with the proposal to end musical tuition for String and Percussion instruments in West Lothian district schools. This will mean the end of:
- ALL SCHOOL STRING TUITION
- ALL SCHOOL PERCUSSION TUITION
- All after school groups involving string instruments (folk group, junior strings, sinfonia, etc.)
It's time for parents, carers and students to act. This act discriminates against certain instruments and needs to be resolved by proposing another solution.
Children deserve the opportunity to enjoy all forms of music, and feel free to choose. With over 193 students across West Lothian being involved in Strings alone, it will affect everyone, regardless of whether you play.
