massive hike in West Lothian Daycentre “contributions” Holmes Gardens, Broxburn

“Contributions” for attending day centre at Holmes Gardens up fro,m £4.30 to £41.35 A day for sufferers of dementia/Alzheimer’s who, along with their Carers, rely on this service for health advantages and respite. This hike is on top of rises of 3%rent 4.7%CT Careline alarm charge, energy costs, food rises, charges for bulky waste removal, and cuts to buses &removal of taxi cards, closure of shopmobility service at Livingston Centre etc disadvantaging the same people over and over. Our elderly and vulnerable cannot bear this financial burden and their mental health will deteriorate as a result. It’s respite for f/t Carers & WLC has obligation in terms of Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 to provide it free
Council must reconsider this budget decision ASAP to ebnablenthose referred to the service by GPs and hospital staff to take advantage of this vital service
