WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR ANY MONEY!!!!!
West Dumbartonshire council have recently put lockable gates at the vehicle entrance to Overtoun house estate at the top of the Milton brae.
According to the council access will be granted as follows-
1st October – 31st March, 9am – 6pm
1st April – 30th September, 8am – 9pm
This means that local people who want to walk their dogs, run, cycle or generally enjoy the overtoun estate and the Lang craggs before work will not be able to park safely at overtoun house. Causing many many problems including- dangerous parking on the Milton brae, people being driven away from a local beauty spot, people being forced to do their chosen activity in a less safe area or not partaking in exercise at all. (over 60% of Scottish people are overweight already.)
the council have stated the gates are replacing old gates but actually there haven't been gates on that entrance to the estate in many years.
Overtoun house and the estate was gifted to the people of Dumbarton, it's just wrong to lock us out.
