These clubs are for children and young adults with disabilities. The children and young adults involved with PALS get so much out oitty else clubs. It is all about fun and play and their time to be with their  friends unfortunately they font gave the freedom or independence to come and go as they please. This is their place for fun and I really do wish people could see exactly what they do get out of it and unlike the  director of education who REFUSED  to speak to the group at the proposed budget cuts!!

Disappointing tonight at the proposed budget cuts meeting in the town hall. The group only got 5 minutes to speak about PALS afterschool where it had to be pointed out that in reality the £49000 annual cost of running Kilpatrick out of school is actually over £65000. The defecet is then made  up by an outside organisation. The director of education refused to come to our table to speak to us before the vote was taken! The most disappointing part of the night was the fact that over 60% of the voting population was to close our group - PALS out of school and let the council run it in Kilpatrick school. The only conclusion to this is that the body of the hall never understood the implications of this for special needs in Clydebank. It will not only affect the out of school if the outside organisation cease to have any control over this, it could also affect our Saturday Drama Group and also our Tuesday adult group. This is funded solely by the Clydebank Special Needs forum with money raised from various activites and not by council funding. The forum employee the services of enable to staff these projects and if the cuts go ahead, it may not be viable for enable to assist with staffing for our other groups (Tuesday & Saturday). A lot of work lies before us before the decision is made. The true cost of this project is less than £40 per child per week - not a lot for a positive impact on a persons quality of life!     THESE CLUBS MEAN EVERYTHING TO THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WHO USE THESE SERVICES AND TO TAKE THEM AWAY IT WOULD LEAVE THEM HEARTBROKEN!!!!!     PLEASE SIGN and SHARE THIS PETITION TO SAVE OUR CLUBS!!!
