Say NO to gravel extraction destroying rural England. Please help us stop it in Brimpton
This petition had 482 supporters
Wasing Estate and West Berkshire District Council are proposing to use Manor Farm and Boot Farm in Brimpton for gravel extraction. These proposals would cause permanent damage to the environment, water courses and wildlife, see up to 58 lorries per day travelling along Brimpton Road, mean changes to rights of way and damage to local heritage sites as well as increasing emissions. This does not meet West Berkshire District Council's stated aims and policies of maintaining the rural environment and reducing climate change.
It is clear that these plans will impact not just the residents of Brimpton, but also those in the surrounding areas and anyone who travels through Brimpton. This is on top of the environmental damage that the gravel extraction would cause. Please sign the petition to show you do not support the plans.
More importantly, please go to http://info.westberks.gov.uk/mwlppo and/or write to write to Minerals and Waste Team, Development and Planning, Market Street Offices, Newbury to respond to the consultation with your objections.
