Shaw Park Newbury is facing an increase of crimes being committed due to its location and secluded setting, crimes range from drug taking and assaults and fights between local youths.

My reasons for this CCTV request...

Multiple children attacked my son and subjected him to a beating, stamped / kicked his head Multiple times, fractured his wrist requiring hospital treatment all of which was recorded via one of their phones (and laughed about in the clip) now doing the rounds on social media, the police are involved. 

People need to be made aware of what their children are up to in our local parks & those that use the parks also need to feel safe before one of our children gets seriously hurt.

So I believe CCTV covering Shaw Park would offer some assistance to reducing the ongoing issues in the park so I would ask West Berkshire Council to consider this & our local MP to support this if enough local residents also support this.

One parent whose child was involved has  already approached us and had their child apologise directly to our son for their actions, which we absolutely respect (thank you to that parent), but it could have been a very different story, I'm sure we all want our children to be safe.

Parental support on this would be very appreciated.
