Hello, thank you for looking at this. My name is Kaylee, and I am 16 years old. I am pansexual, and I attend my schools LGBT club as often as I can. However, the school district has blocked websites that are pro-LGBTQ+, such as the Trevor Project website, and pride.com, for being about "human sexuality". as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I find this absolutely disgusting. In West Ada's policies, which I looked over myself, and it says that they cannot do this. So, they are breaking their own policies! This is outrageous. In addition, it is an attempt to deny the existence of the LGBTQ+ community, simply to appease parents who are homophobic. What does the word "equality" mean in this situation, if a group of people are being silenced? The words "Lesbian" "Bisexual" and "Transsexual" are blocked; if you look them up, a page that says "You have been blocked my the internet filtering" will appear. On top of this, the F-slur is not blocked. Again, this is blatant discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. Please sign this petition to urge West Ada School District to end this, and allow resources for LGBTQ+ kids.
