Support investigations into the Aldridge flooding at Walsall Road

On the 27th May 2018, the residents of a section of Walsall Road in Aldridge had a significant flood which caused substantial damage to the properties and the loss of belongings.
Whilst a storm caused a significant amount of water in the area, the water actually came up directly through the sewage system on Walsall Road. This led to around four feet of foul sewage water entering around ten properties, with a maximum depth of around four feet within the properties itself. The damage to many properties, will mean that the residents are unable to return until early next year.
Therefore we would like your support in helping the residents achieve the following:
- Ensuring that Severn Trent Water (who manage the sewers in Aldridge) review the sewage system in question and ensure that any remediation work is completed to help prevent such flooding in the area
- Providing support to having the council maintained trees, cut back in the area of flooding to prevent foliage entering the sewage system during seasonal times.
We would really appreciate your support in helping us achieve the above, which has caused significant emotional and physical stresses on a number of residents and families within Aldridge.
Thank you for your on-going support.
