Site of the old Fox Pub, New Road, Woolmer Green started this petition to Welwyn Hatfield District Council

At the site of the old Fox Pub, in New Road, Woolmer Green, SG3, a developer, MEG TRADING, built four cottages.  WHDC planning department issued planning permission with criteria that included: “…the need to provide a public footpath….”  and  “ ……to ensure the satisfactory completion of the access and associated road improvements…”.  The planning permission also stated: “Prior to the first occupations of the dwellings hereby permitted, access from the highway, the car parking spaces for each dwelling must be laid out and surfaced and drained …..”.    None of the above has ever been fully completed by the developer, despite the home owners following this up with the developer, the solicitors involved, Herts County Highways and WHDC.  The result is that the pathway comes to an abrupt and dangerous end outside of the cottages.  On 18 August 2017, a Herts County Council engineer wrote in an e-mail “….the current status and condition of the footway/carriageway at this location is currently more of an immediate safety concern ….”.

PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TO INSIST WHDC AND HCC FORCE THE DEVELOPER TO COMPLETE THESE WORKS OR HCC AND WHDC COMPLETE THESE WORKS AT THEIR EXPENSE, WHDC HAVING ISSUED THE PLANNING PERMISSION CRITERIA BUT NOT HAVING ENFORCED IT.
