In the UK we have a serious problem running blades are not an affordable price. Or, available for adult amputees via our NHS. An average running blade can cost up to £1,300 from a private  manufacturer. This ‘privatisation’ of running blades can have a mental and physical damaging effect on amputees from low income backgrounds. This problem is particularly noticeable in Wales. It was only in 2021 that Wales’ first child amputee received a running blade via the NHS. I believe the Welsh government should have shares in these private companies. I am creating this e petition to state that the Welsh government should hold shares in private running blade companies and put aside funding specifically for adult amputees via investments in these private companies.
